The 2018 Ann Ferren Conference: Reimagining the Educator for the 21st Century was held on Friday, January 12, 2018 in the Mary Graydon Center at American University. This year's conference continued the trend with more than 400 participating faculty, staff, and graduate students. The program featured a morning plenary session titled "Voices of 21st Century Students"; 20 faculty-led sessions on topics related to the four conference themes Changing Pedagogical Paradigms, Importance of Mentorship, Education as Civic Engagement, and Technological Innovation; and concluded with a luncheon plenary conversation with AU's 15th President Sylvia Burwell, and her guest Bruce Reed from the Aspen Institute.
Save the date for the next Ann Ferren Conference: Friday, January 11, 2019. Solicitation for session proposals will begin in the early summer of 2018.
