Call for Proposals

The Center for Teaching, Research, and Learning invites all faculty and staff to submit proposals for the 2019 Ann Ferren Conference on Teaching, Research & Learning.

Proposals are due by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 26, 2018.

The 2018 Ann Ferren Conference: Reimagining the Educator for the 21st Century was held on Friday, January 12, 2018 in the Mary Graydon Center at American University. More than 400 faculty, staff, and graduate students attended the conference. The program featured a morning plenary session titled "Voices of 21st Century Students"; 20 faculty-led sessions on topics related to the four conference themes Changing Pedagogical Paradigms, Importance of Mentorship, Education as Civic Engagement, and Technological Innovation; and concluded with a luncheon plenary conversation with AU's 15th President Sylvia Burwell, and her guest Bruce Reed from the Aspen Institute.
