Which Eagle Group am I assigned to?

Refer to the welcome email from New Student Orientation sent to your AU email inbox. Students will participate in Orientation and Encounter AU with the same peers, so make sure your Eagle Group and section number align!

You can still register for the class on Eagle Service! Please select one of the sections listed with your Eagle Group information above. Read below on this page for detailed instructions for finding your section on Eagle Service.

My Eagle Group and Section Number don't match.

If you notice an error between your Eagle Group and your Encounter AU section, please contact us. We are excited that most students will attend orientation with peers from their Encounter AU class! However, due to space limitations, it's possible that some students will not be in matched groups.

Encounter AU Registration Details

Follow the instructions on the tabs below to verify your section (registered students) or enroll in an appropriate CORE-102/CORE-103 section (not registered students). 

Please keep in mind:

  • In general, Orientation Eagle Groups will not change, even if you move your Encounter AU section to one from a different group.
  • Encounter AU is a required class for all new students at AU and most incoming first-year students will take CORE-102
  • The following cohorts have designated CORE-103 sections: Transfer Students, Student-Athletes, Sakura Scholars, and AU Cornerstone Dublin. See the Harpy and Imperial Eagle Groups above for more details.
  • You should register for a section with seats available prior to adding yourself to any waitlists
  • If you still are unsure about which section to take, your advisor can help you with schedule planning. It's essential to take a CORE-102 or CORE-103 in the fall semester!

To verify that you are registered in a CORE-102 or CORE-103 section that is designated for your Eagle Group.

  1. Sign in to Eagle Service using your AU login credentials
  2. On the left side bar, navigate to Academics, then Student Planning, then Plan & Schedule
  3. Find the CORE-102 or CORE-103 section number listed on your schedule for Fall 2026 Semester
  4. Compare your section number to the Eagle Group information listed above

To register in a CORE-102 or CORE-103 section that is designated for your Eagle Group

  1. Sign in to Eagle Service using your AU login credentials
  2. On the left side bar, navigate to Academics, then Student Planning, then Plan & Schedule 
    OR navigated to Academics, then Guest Course Catalog
  3. Enter "CORE-102" or "CORE-103" in the Search for courses... box
  4. Scroll down to locate a section number that is listed with your Eagle Group in the information above
    OR use "Ctrl + F" to search the page for section numbers listed with your Eagle Group
  5. Choose an appropriate section with seats available and click "Add Section to Schedule"
