In this talk, Professor Kurt Braddock will show how violent subtext and "jokes" are no laughing matter, and can lead to actual violence against American citizens.

As a Latino scholar teaching and researching in the U.S./Mexico borderlands, Dr. Soto-Vásquez brings a special perspective to the process of "Migrant World Making." His talk will also touch on issues of migrant meaning-making on Instagram, contemporary political debate about immigration and the border, and recent illustrations of "Migrant World Making" in action.
