Russian Studies
The World Languages and Cultures Department offers courses ranging from Elementary Russian to Topics courses as well as several major and minor programs. Our major programs include: Russian Studies, which focuses on language and culture integrating topics from around the Russian-speaking world; Russian/Area Studies, which is an interdisciplinary program integrating Russian studies courses as well as area studies courses from other AU Departments; Foreign Language and Communication, which is also an interdisciplinary program incorporating courses in both WLC and the School of Communication; and Business, Language and Culture studies which is an interdisciplinary program incorporating courses in both WLC and Kogod School of Business. Minor Programs include both Russian Language and Russian/Area Studies. Additionally, the Department offers Certificates in Russian Translation which can be incorporated in our majors or taken separately.
