2022 Open Enrollment

Monday, November 1 - Monday, November 15

Whether you’ve had your AU benefit elections for a long time, or if you’re wondering if you should make a switch, weigh your options and make changes to your benefits without a qualifying life event during open enrollment.

The 2022 virtual benefits and wellness fair has daily events. Learn about your benefits, attend financial workshops, schedule one-on-one meetings with representatives, or have fun participating in a virtual dance party or cooking demo. Every session is raffling a prize! Visit the Benefits and Wellness Fair site for events and registration.

It's time to choose your benefit options November 1-15, 2021

From November1-15, 2021, you can add, change, or drop coverage to the following plans:

  • Medical
    • CareFirst BlueChoice Advantage
    • Kaiser Permanente HMO
  • Dental
    • Delta Dental Comprehensive Plan
    • Delta Dental Basic Plan
  • Flexible Spending Accounts (Flexible Spending Accounts do not rollover and must be elected each year)
    • Health Care ($2,750 limit)
    • Dependent Care ($5,000 limit)
  • Optional life and personal accident insurance
  • Legal plan

Important open enrollment information

Open enrollment benefits are available to full-time faculty and staff and their dependents.

  • 2022 Open enrollment elections are in effect from January 1, 2022 – December 31, 2022, unless you have a qualifying life event such as a marriage, divorce, birth, or adoption of a child. You must notify Human Resources within thirty (30) calendar days of the date of a life event to change your benefits throughout the year.
  • If you do not enroll, you will have the coverage you elected for 2021, except for flexible spending accounts (FSAs).
  • Health care and dependent care FSAs do not rollover and must be elected each year.
  • Your children are eligible to be covered under your medical and dental plans until age 26. If your child turns 26 in 2022, they will have coverage until December 31, 2022.
