You are here: American University University Library Services Makerspace
Please note that due to staff absences from August 10–20th, appointments and printing requests will be paused. We appreciate your understanding and will start services again on Friday, August 21st.
Makerspace
The AU Library Makerspace aims to introduce the AU community and other DC locals to the world of material and digital creation by offering an intimate, accessible, and comfortable space for individuals to explore their creativity. Welcome to the Makerspace! Now let’s get making.
Using the Makerspace
The Makerspace is located on the Lower Level of the library, right behind the Print Center.
Come visit us:
- Fall and Spring Semesters: Monday-Thursday 10am to 8pm; Fridays 10am to 6pm
- Summer and Winter Intersession: by appointment only
Appointments are not required when we are open, but if you would like expert guidance or training on a project, or to ensure the use of a specific machine, we highly recommend you schedule one.
Please note: Makerspace appointments are not intended to prioritize the space, and you will have to share with other makers even if you book a time in advance. If you are reserving a machine, you are entitled to its use for the duration of your appointment.
For faculty interested in bringing their class to the Makerspace, or for student groups and other organizations who would like to collaborate with us, please contact us at [email protected].
