Adjunct Faculty Professional Development Fund

American University has established a Professional Development Fund for adjunct faculty to provide support for professional development opportunities related to teaching. An adjunct faculty member may apply for support, and if the application is approved, the faculty member may be reimbursed up to $600 in an academic year for verified expenditures related to the approved professional development opportunity. Center for Teaching, Research and Learning (CTRL)

CTRL offers two grant opportunities for curricular enhancement (Teaching Enhancement Grants and Ideas Incubator Grants), for which adjunct faculty are eligible to apply. CTRL also coordinates an annual Teaching with Research award and a Teaching with Technology award, for which adjunct faculty may be nominated. Click here for details on these CTRL programs.

Summer 2014 Course Grants

Two categories of course development grants will be provided by the Office of the Vice Provost for Academic Administration to develop for-credit undergraduate and graduate courses for online asynchronous delivery during the Summer 2014. Click here for more details.
