Synopsis of October 15, 2019 Union-Management Collaboration Committee Meeting
The Committee continued its discussions of the issue of private meeting space for Adjuncts to meet with their students. The Schools and Colleges handle this matter and the Committee is working to assure that each School and College and other AU entity that hires Adjuncts provides readily accessible meeting space. This topic is featured on the Adjunct website under the title of “Meeting Space for Adjuncts and their Students.”
The Committee also discussed providing lockable storage space for Adjuncts who do not want to carry bulky class-related papers or items back and forth to campus. This topic will also be covered under the same heading on the Adjunct website.
The Committee also discussed what an Adjunct should do if he or she has an emergency and is unable to attend class. University policy on this topic will be posted on the Adjunct website under the heading “Absence from Class.”
