Pass/Fail Option Deadline Reminder

Dear Students:

I wanted to check in to wish everyone a good end to your semester—certainly one that no one could have imagined—and congratulate you for your hard work and dedication to your classes in what we know has been a stressful time.

As you are already aware, one of the actions we’ve taken to try to alleviate some of your stress is to allow most undergraduate and graduate students to select a pass/fail option for one, some, or all of their Spring 2020 courses (a reminder that P/F grades are not calculated in the GPA). For most students, the deadline to select the pass/fail option is the last day of classes this Monday, April 27. This deadline does not apply to Washington College of Law students, who must take their spring semester classes pass/fail, and for students on the four-term calendar, who will have until June 7 to make their choices. In most cases, the last day to withdraw from a class is also Monday, April 27.

As some students have unique requirements that may affect their ability to take a class pass/fail, I urge you to speak to your academic advisors, if you have not already done so, and to review the pass/fail FAQ for more information. If the FAQ does not answer your specific question, please contact your academic or financial aid advisor for help.

Please know that we are thinking of everyone and are ready to address any questions or concerns you may have. We hope that you are staying safe and healthy and finding some time to relax and take care of yourself.

Best of luck on your finals!

Dan
