Upstream, Downriver features community activists on the frontlines fighting for water justice and equity. Their powerful stories are interwoven with historical context about the successes and failures of the Clean Water Act. This DCEFF screening event panel features filmmaker and Director of CEF Maggie Burnette Stogner and MFA graduate student Marissa Woods, Patuxent Riverkeeper Fred Tutman, and EarthJustice water attorney Julian Gonzalez. The Visions Awards are the Film Division’s prestige awards ceremony, showcasing the best film and media work from American University students for over 40 years. This year the event will be held in McKinley's Doyle-Forman Theater on March 28th at 8pm. This on-campus event will be limited to American University students, staff and faculty. Join us as students from AU SOC's Fine Art Photography Fall 2022 class exhibit work focused on themes of Identity and the self portrait. In addition, we're excited to welcome La Marvela, an all-women Cumbia music band who seek a more balanced and equal gender representation in music. SOC's McKinley building offers a host of event spaces available for rent, ranging from classrooms to a 144 seat theater with 4k projector.
