To sustain the efforts of the School of Communication (SOC) and to advance Change Can’t Wait: The Campaign for American University, we invite you to become a Founding Member of The Dean’s Family Leadership Society. The Dean’s Family Leadership Society is an exclusive group dedicated to shaping the present – and future – of SOC through sustaining philanthropic support. Becoming a member of The Dean’s Family Leadership Society is a great way to meet other members of the SOC community who share the goal of enriching the student experience through philanthropy.
As SOC representatives, The Dean’s Family Leadership Society members may serve as ambassadors of the school for recruitment and development purposes. Additionally, members may be asked to provide guidance on ways to engage with other families or local business communities.
With an annual gift of $5,000 or more, you can demonstrate a higher level of commitment, engagement, and leadership within the School of Communication and American University at large. When you give to the SOC Dean’s Fund or any fund of your choice as a member of The Dean’s Family Leadership Society, you help us strengthen and transform the student experience. Your contribution will provide unrestricted support for our greatest need areas, including support for scholarships, internships, emergency aid to students, and life changing student experiences in and outside the classroom.
Founding Members of The Dean’s Family Leadership Society receive special recognition and benefits and help to create changemaking ways for our community to address the most complex challenges in our changing world. The Dean’s Family Leadership Society offers three tiers of membership:
