SOC sudents Robert Boyd (MFA, Film and Media Arts ’20) and Isabella Contarino (BA, Foreign Language and Communication, ’22) will attend the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Show in Las Vegas this April. Both students, Dean’s Interns at SONY, were selected to assist at SONY’s booth and gain first-hand experience with the latest technology in mass communication.

The NAB Show is a conference bringing together leaders in media, entertainment and technology around content and storytelling. It includes professionals traditional communications fields like advertising, television, and social media, along with emerging technologies like AI, augmented reality, podcasting, virtual reality, and more.

Both students are excited to see what the conference has to offer, and its opportunities for networking.

“I can't wait to see some of SONY’s latest technology, and I believe that this trip would be an excellent opportunity to form connections with fellow student filmmakers, and SONY personnel,” says Boyd.

Contarino says she’s also excited to network, stating that she is “hoping to make some connections that will help (her) in the future” and “gain some more experience in the field.” “I'm really just excited to go there and learn new things while having fun.”
