Quantitative Support

TutoringLab4

Quantitative Support provides mathematics and statistics support to undergraduate and graduate students at American University. Tutors will help students learn course concepts, develop study strategies, complete practice exercises, and prepare for exams. Quantitative Support comprises two core services: the Math & Stats Lab and Statistical Software Support.

Math & Stats Lab:

Don Myers Building, Room 103.

Students are welcome to visit the Lab anytime it is open. They do not need an appointment to receive tutoring at the Lab.

The Lab focuses on providing tutoring for the following courses:

  • MATH-125 to MATH-222
  • STAT-160 to STAT-320
  • DATA-412

Depending on tutors' availability and skillsets, they might be able to assist undergraduate and graduate students taking higher-level mathematics and statistics courses. Also, tutors might be able to assist students with quantitative concepts in coursework from other departments’ courses.

Spring 2024 Semester:

The normal operating schedule for in-person tutoring at the lab will be as follows:

  • Sundays, 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm
  • Mondays - Thursdays, 11:00 am - 7:00 pm
  • Fridays, 11:00 am - 3:00 pm
  • Saturdays, closed
