6,000 student contacts, on average, accessing Academic Support and Access services each year
The ASAC will conduct all academic support and disability support services virtually for the Fall 2020 semester. For more information please refer to the COVID-19 FAQ website.
Disability-related accommodations will remain in place (although some implemented slightly differently) and students should contact their Disability Access Advisor with any additional questions. New requests for accommodation should follow the Three-Step process. Please note we are currently unable to accept documentation submitted via mail since we are not in the office. Emailing documentation to email@example.com is the most efficient way to submit documentation at this time.
Academic support appointments are all virtual and can be scheduled online using normal systems. For the Tutoring Lab, Writing Center, and Quantitative Support, visit: https://american.mywconline.net/. For Academic Coaching, visit: https://auacademiccoaching.youcanbook.me/. Students in courses with Supplemental Instruction (SI) will receive information from their SI Leaders about how to access services via Blackboard Collaborate.
The Academic Support and Access Center (ASAC) supports the academic development and educational goals of all American University students and is committed to promoting access for individuals with disabilities within the university's diverse community.
