There are five easy steps to becoming a tutor!
STEP ONE: Complete a DC Reads application online.
STEP TWO: Submit negative TB test results to the Center for Community Engagement and Service. Some sites also require tutors to submit a DC Public Schools background check.
STEP THREE: Sign up for an interview with a DC Reads staff member by calling (202) 885-7311.
STEP FOUR: Federal Work Study only - Complete hiring paperwork with DC Reads office staff.
Once you have completed the above five steps you are able to begin tutoring at your designated site!
For questions about the application process, eligibility, or summer hours, please visit the DC Reads Facts and Questions page.
Any questions can be addressed via email to email@example.com or by phone at (202) 885-7378.
