Support the Endowment

We welcome your support of the Eagle Endowment and our community service efforts. There are many ways in which you can be a part of our work. We always welcome guest speakers and workshop presenters for our grantees. We also hope to recruit local alumni to join us in our service projects as volunteers.

Making a financial contribution to the Eagle Endowment affirms your commitment to service at American University. The vast majority of the Endowment has come from the ongoing support of members of the campus community including faculty, staff, students and alumni. Individuals who have realized that contributions to the Eagle Endowment are an investment in a legacy that will forever stay with AU. Thank you for your contribution!

Contributing online

You can make a gift online using AU's secure online gift form. Follow these steps:

  1. Click the link provided and select your preferred donation amount.
  2. Enter the specific donation amount you wish to contribute.
  3. Under the "To the: Funds I Choose" tab, choose "Support a Fund Not Listed" option.
  4. Make sure to designate your donation to the Eagle Endowment.

All donations are tax-deductible and will be used to meet the growing volume of grant applications. If you are particularly interested in supporting a particular grant or would like to create one, please contact eagleendowment@american.edu

Donations over $1,500 or sufficient repeating donations are eligible for a "named grant." You will have the opportunity to have a yearly grant in your name designated to a cause of your choice.

Contributions can be make by check, payable to American University and designated to the Eagle Endowment Income Account (in the memo line) and mailed to:
