Campus Beautification Day

Volunteer with American University faculty, staff, and students to beautify our campus

Campus Beautification Day

Every year around April Campus Beautification Day (CBD) focuses on building community with staff, faculty, students, and neighbors, while making campus beautiful. CBD is a university tradition which incorporates campus beautification and sustainability goals through greening the campus. All you need for the event is close toed shoes and a reusable water bottle; an event t-shirt, and gardening equipment will be provided to you. The CBD always closes out the event with a BBQ in the amphitheater where participants will be entered to win a raffle prize!

CBD also encourages participants to bring your personal and office e-waste to be recycled. The Office of Facilities Management American University Zero Waste will be collecting e-waste next to the registration desks. E-waste will be recycled, and data will be wiped according to Department of Defense standards. Please note that AU owned surplus e-waste will not be collected at this drive but must be collected by the Office of Information Technology, by filling out an online form.
