What is the VA Work-Study Program? Information for Interested Students

The VA Work-Study Program is a program that pays an allowance to admitted and enrolled undergraduate and graduate students who are using any VA Educational Benefit such as:

  • Chapter 30 Montgomery GI Bill®
  • Chapter 31 Vocational Rehabilitation
  • Chapter 33 Post 9/11 GI Bill®
  • Chapter 35 Dependents and Survivors Educational Assistance
  • Chapter 1606 Selected Reserve

Students must be enrolled and using VA Educational Benefits to be eligible to participate in the VA Work-Study Program.

Part of being a work-study involves learning about Veterans' Benefits. The Veterans Office will train you on the basics of Veterans' Benefits which will enable Work-Study students to answer general questions regarding VA Benefits to walk-ins, newly admitted students, and parents. Additionally you'll assist the Associate Director or Veteran Services Coordinator in general office duties, administrative tasks, or other VA related tasks during your shift.

For specifics and details, please contact the Veterans Office via or by visiting us in 201 Asbury located in AU Central during our 1-5 walk-in hours.
