There are some steps you will need to complete for your enrollment and re-entry to AU. Find what you need to know right here.

  1. Meet with your Academic Advisor

  5. Learn about tuition refund insurance Optional for matriculation:

    In the event that you might need to withdraw from AU, American University offers GradGuard tuition refund insurance through Allianz Global Assistance. If you believe that this is something you might benefit from, you have until the day before classes begin to enroll.

  6. Confirm your emergency contacts

    Available Now

    Make sure AU has an up-to-date list of your emergency contacts. To update, visit the academics tab on the student portal. Please note, if you are under 18, your parent/legal guardian must be your primary contact.

  7. Apply or opt-out of on-campus housing

    Available Now

    Returning students who did not secure a housing assignment through Reapplication or want to change a space they selected during Reapplication should click the "Read More" button to see their specific next steps.

  8. Sign up for your meal plan Optional for matriculation:

    Available Now — Due September 1, 2022 — Add to calendar

    Review, enroll, or modify meal plan enrollment for upcoming Academic Year. Students living in AU campus housing may be required to enroll in a minimum meal plan determined by terms lived in housing and housing assignment. In these cases, meal plans will be default enrolled by One Card & Dining Services. Students will be able to increase their meal plan if required to hold a minimum meal plan.
