If you wish, you can grant your parents, guardians, or others the ability to access your academic and administrative information through a special "account" on the portal. You may create a separate user name for each individual and specify the level of access you authorize for him or her.

To protect your privacy, the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act requires us to obtain your permission, before sharing your educational records.

To grant access, follow the steps below:

1. Visit Eagle Service - Financial Information
2. Sign in with your AU credentials.
3. Click on the Student Name and Icon.
4. Click on View/Add Proxy Access.
5. Select Person from the drop-down box and add a proxy. If the person you want is not listed, click on Add Another User and complete their information to add them to your proxy list.
6. Select the Permission for the proxy user. You can select to authorize your proxy to make a payment, view account summary, and/or view account activity.
7. Click Save, and then click the Submit button.
8. You can add multiple accounts for multiple different proxies.
   
   

When the person you authorized logs in to the myAU portal with the user name and password you created, they can access Eagle Service with only the access that you enabled for them. You can modify the access level at any time through Eagle Service.

You can also contact the OIT Help Desk to have the password reset or to have the account deleted. These accounts are yours to manage, and the Help Desk will only reset the passwords for you or the account holder.

Already have the myAU Mobile app?

MyAU Mobile app's versions downloaded before August 19, 2024, are no longer supported. Please remove/uninstall the current versions, including the Ellucian Go app, and then download the new mobile app on your device.

Download the myAU Mobile app on your iPhone or iPad

1.  On your iPhone or iPad, open the App Store app.
2. Tap the Search tab to look for myAU Mobile.
3. Tap or click the Get button.
4. Double-click the side button on the right side of your iPhone—or the top button on your iPad—to complete the download. If you use Face ID or Touch ID to unlock your device, you'll glance at your device or touch the Home button to authenticate the download. You might need to enter your Apple ID password to complete the download.

Download the myAU Mobile app on your Android device

1.  On your device, open the Google Play Store or go to play.google.com on a web browser.
2. Search for myAU Mobile.
3. Select Install.
4. Follow the on-screen instructions to get the app.

 

AU has partnered with GradGuard/Allianz Global Assistance to make tuition refund insurance available to you and your family.

• Tuition insurance acts as an extension of the University’s refund policy, reimbursing you for your tuition payment, housing and meal fees, and other nonrefundable expenses, if you withdraw for a covered reason at any time during the semester.
• Tuition insurance is optional, and you will pay the insurance provider directly for coverage.  The tuition insurance may be purchased each semester, up through the end of the second week of classes

Your information can be viewed when completing your housing application (as a new student)

To make updates to your information:

1. Login to the myAU Portal.
2. Under Personalized links, search for Contact Information - Students.
3. Click the corresponding link that appears in the results.
4. Click Change next to the information you want updated.
5. Follow the instructions on screen to complete the change.

Please note that if you are under 18, your parent/legal guardian must be your primary contact.

During your first login to a Duo-protected system, you will be required to complete the Duo enrollment process. Most account holders will need to enroll a mobile device in Duo. Use the instructions below to enroll a mobile phone or tablet in Duo.

If you've already completed the initial Duo enrollment process, please instead refer to documentation on updating or managing duo devices.

What is Duo Mobile?

Duo Mobile is an app for your smartphone or tablet simplifies the process for authenticating to your AU account. Duo Mobile offers the most flexibility for authenticating to your AU account by providing users a one-tap prompt to respond to, or renewable security codes. Duo Mobile does not rely on SMS or phone call capabilities, making it ideal for situations where you may not have cell coverage or wifi access, including traveling internationally.

Can't Download DUO Mobile? If your phone cannot download Duo Mobile, you can still authenticate using a phone call or text message. See the available alternatives to using the Duo Mobile App, which includes details on the other types of devices that the enrollment process can accommodate.

Self-Enrollment

1. During the first enrollment, users will receive a brief introduction to the Duo platform. Click Next to proceed through the introduction.
   
   
   
2. After the introduction, select an enrollment option. We strongly recommend Duo Mobile, for enrolling a mobile device.
   
   
   
3. In the field provided, enter your phone number and click Add phone number. If you are setting up Duo Mobile on a tablet, click I have a tablet to proceed.
   
4. Confirm the phone number appears correct, then verify ownership of your phone by having DUO call or text you a verification code. Enter the code, then click Verify.
5. With your phone number added, follow the on-screen instructions to download the Duo Mobile app to either your iOS or Android device.
   
6. A QR code will display on-screen. Open the Duo Mobile app to scan the displayed QR code to complete the Duo Mobile setup.
7. You're now enrolled in DUO. Click Continue to enroll other devices or complete your first Duo authentication.
   

American University offers the following monthly payment plans for the fall and spring terms:

• 5 Month Payment Plan
• 4 Month Payment Plan
• 3 Month Payment Plan
• 2 Month Payment Plan

You are signed up for a specific payment plan based on when you submit the application.  If you submit a payment plan application for that semester, the regular tuition deadline does not apply to you.  Additional information  - including the online application, terms and conditions, and deadlines for applying - is available online at: Payment Plans.

Students can access their student account bill from Eagle Service with their AU credentials. The University does not mail paper bills

A bill becomes available online as soon as a student registers.  Fall semester bills are typically complete (housing, dining charges; pending financial aid) by July 1

Once you log in, you will have access to view your online PDF bill, account activity, and make payments.

You may grant access for others to view and pay your bill online by granting proxy access

Health insurance is required for all full-time degree, resident, and international students with F1 and J1 visas.

The health insurance fee will be posted to your account once you register as a fulltime student; however, you can submit a Health Insurance Waiver, if you have comparable insurance coverage.

The waiver becomes available 48 hours after the health insurance fee is posted to your student account

Note: Opting out of health insurance is something that only the student can do for themselves.

If you want to opt out, you must submit a waiver request before September 9, 2026. (No waivers are possible after that date.) The earlier you request a waiver, the sooner the charge can be removed from your bill, so please try to do this before August if possible! The waiver request process will open on May 14 (you cannot submit a waiver until 48 hours after the health insurance charge has been posted to your bill)

Here are the steps:

1. Have an electronic copy of your current insurance card and your American University student ID.
2. Go to: https://american.myahpcare.com/waiver
3. Select the 'Click Here to Enroll or Waive the Student Health Insurance Plan' link.
4. Login to the system by using the following:
o Login – AU ID (7-digits)Please enter A and the number 0 and then your 7 digit numeric AUID (the number found on your ID card, not your AU username)
o Password - Date of Birth in MMDDYYYY format, unless previously changed.  (Ex: 01011990)
5. Select the 'Sign In' button.
6. On the home page, select "WAIVE" button from the "I Already Have Insurance" section.
7. Enter your insurance information and attach your required documentation.
8. Select the 'Submit Waiver' button at the bottom of the waiver form.

You will receive a message from Academic HealthPlans that you've submitted the waiver. This does not mean that it was approved; that decision will be made within 5-7 business days.   You will receive an additional email from Academic HealthPlans once your waiver has been processed with the waiver decision.
