Meal Plan Selection

All on-campus residents with less than 4 semesters in residence are required to enroll in a meal plan. All first and second year resident students are required to have the 175 block meal plan or higher. Third and fourth year residents in non-apartment style housing are required to have the 100 block meal plan or higher. The 100 block meal plans and higher come with $400 in declining balance, split evenly between EagleBucks and Dining Dollars ($200 each). When do I select my Meal Plan?

As a first year student, you will select your meal plan when completing the online housing application.  If you do not participate in the housing application process, your meal plan must be selected via your myAU.american.edu portal by July 1, 2014.  Contact mealplans@american.edu with any questions.

Can I change my Meal Plan?

Once selected, meal plans can be changed via your myAU.american.edu student portal, under the “select meal plan” section of the Life@AU link.  Meal Plans can be changed through the start of the second week of classes each semester.  For specific dates and deadlines, visit the Housing & Dining Programs’ website at www.american.edu/housing
